Demon Pick #3

Umsteigen! German for “movement” or “change,” it also happens to be the name of one of my favorite screen-printed clothing companies.

Susanne Schubert, the designer and owner, screens and stitches each one of her creations by hand, turning out fabulous hoodies and tops that are cozy and chic. I love the images, like wandering camels and windblown leaves, that drift across their backs and fronts. You can catch her wares in Manhattan at the The Market 11 to 7pm on weekends. You can also shop and discover more of her designs on her website: I wish I could buy them all!

  1. Who is that model for Spring 2007 on the linked to website!!!! What an amazing look!!!! Gotta love that hair! Seems like the offerings for 2008 on thte site, however, are quite slim compared to previous seasons. Too bad. Loved the Escher influenced flying geese shirt and I agree, the hoodies are quite excellent, especially the one with the leaves. I’m gonna get one for my girlfriend.

  2. I hear that Suzanne is just getting her mojo cookin’ for her Spring and Summer lines this year, so stay tuned. She updates her site with new stuff regularly. You can also find her designs at a number of shops in Brooklyn, including Ai Ai Gasa on 5th Ave. and Rare Device on 7th Ave.

  3. Piece of writing writing is also a fun, if you know after that you can write otherwise it is difficult to write.
